Color me scrappy #7 and Turquoise - Layout 1

I am playing the color me scrappy contest for the first time. The contest on this blog is based on color combinations. The color combination they have for challenge 7 is really fun and colorful. I also combined this contest with a sketch from scrapbook steals - Turquoise 1. It was single page layout and I converted it to a two page layout.

I knew exactly what photos to use for this layout when I saw the color combo. These are photos my little boy Surya who is now 2 years old but was 8 months old when these pictures were taken. At that time he was crawling all over the place, he was trying to walk but still couldn't and everything and anything went into his mouth.....so sweet and so adorable.

• Plain cardstock: DCWV citrus cardstock
• Patterned Paper: Celebrations cricut paper
• Buttons: Basic Grey
• Cricut cartridges: Graphically speaking

Turquoise - Layout 10

This is the tenth layout of the Turquoise series. Very soon a new series will start. For this sketch I made a layout of Arjun in Cancun. My favorite part of the layout of the designer for scrapbook steals is actually the journalling. There is a lot more going on but not sure why, I just liked the placement and the the size of the journalling.

Turquoise - Layout 2

Okay, I am catching up with the initial Turquoise layouts. I started following the weekly sketches from Layout 5. But unfortunately could not complete 5 or 6 on time. I finally started getting the hang of it from layout 7.
So here is my layout for scrapbook steals Turquoise - Layout 2. It is a fun multi photo sketch. I changed it out quite a bit. I removed the slant and changed some sizes, I wanted it to fit with Turquoise - Layout 5 of Surya at the beach. It is not a perfect two page layout but at least the photos are from the same day and I used the same paper and colors.

• Patterned cardstock : Alphabet Soup - I love this paper. It is very cute and playful.(Bought from scrapbook steals)
• Kraft cardstock : Recollections
• Other plain cardstock : Cape code collection from Recollections
• Buttons: Fancy pants Off to school (I think)
• Cricut cartridges: Graphically speaking, stretch your imagination

Turquoise - Layout 9

Here is another Layout for scrapbook steals of my family. After making a layout with this photo, I have realized that we have very few photos of us together as a family. I think from now on I will go out of my way to ask people to take picutres of us together.
Most of my layouts have rectangular or square shapes and I don't do much layering either. I have to thank Kristy Lee who is the designer for scrapbook steals to literally make me think outside the box. The layout she made was beautiful.

I used the following materials:

• Patterned paper  and embellishments : Lush from My Mind's eye (orange and blue)
• Cricut cartridges used: Elegant edges, graphically speaking, plantin schoolbook

By the way, I have used the Lush collection for making a baby shower scrapbook. It suits the baby shower theme quite well.
